More than 80 Columbia-Richland Firefighters Honored at Annual Department Awards Ceremony

By March 7, 2025No Comments

For the second straight year community heroes took center stage at the annual awards ceremony for the Columbia-Richland Fire Department.

This year’s event was held on Saturday March 1, 2025 at the South Carolina State Fairgrounds. Sworn firefighters with the department were recognized for their outstanding work over the course of the past year. This included several firefighters who exhibited incredible bravery in the line of their duty.

“What’s really great about this awards program is that it is driven by our members,” said Columbia-Richland Fire Chief Aubrey D. Jenkins, “The members of our department’s awards committee have done an excellent and thorough job putting this ceremony together. While only some of our members can be recognized at the event, what we see during it is just a small example of the overall incredible work that all of CRFD team does each and every day. That passion for serving our citizens is what makes me very proud to be their fire chief.”

All award honorees for the ceremony were nominated by members of the Columbia-Richland Fire Department. The CRFD Awards Committee, which is made up of our personnel, carried out the task of reviewing nominations at the end of 2024 and ultimately selecting which members would receive awards.
