The two agencies helped the American Association of Retired Persons distribute and install cost efficient LED lightbulbs to senior citizens. The goal of the pilot program, called ‘This Little Light of Mine,’ is to reduce accidents and falls in area homes because of poor lighting.

Even Fire Chief Aubrey D. Jenkins was scaling ladders to help get the job done.

Target areas for the lightbulbs were bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways and kitchen areas.
