
More than 40 members of the Columbia-Richland Fire Department were promoted to new ranks of leadership with the department at the end of 2022 and through the first quarter of 2023. During that time 21 members moved up to the rank of senior firefighter, 15 became engineers, 4 were named fire captains and 3 made it to the rank of battalion chief.
The department also promoted one new training officer and a new divisional chief to oversee our 1st Shift. A good number of the honorees were recognized at a pinning ceremony held at CRFD Headquarters on the evening of March 30, 2023.
