Aubrey D. Jenkins

Fire Chief

Fire Chief Aubrey D. Jenkins worked his way up through the ranks of the Columbia-Richland Fire Department beginning when he joined us in 1979. He served as a firefighter from 1979 to 1984, a relief fire equipment operator from 1982 to 1984, a fire equipment operator from 1984 to 1988, a fire captain from 1988 to 1993, a battalion chief from 1993 to 2005, and deputy chief of the department from 2005 to 2011. He currently leads 570 employees, which includes dozens of volunteer firefighters.

Mickey Folsom

Assistant Fire Chief of Administration and Community

The Administration Division of the Columbia-Richland Fire Department handles many layers of responsibility. This includes the research, developmental oversight and purchase of new equipment for our members.

The division works daily to provide supplies and resources in support of all of our departmental operations.

George Adams

Assistant Chief & Fire Marshal

Assistant Chief George Adams oversees our Fire Prevention Office. He has been a member of our department for more than 30 years.

His office provides oversight of fire inspections, fire investigations, internal affairs investigations, and permit administration and plan review for both new construction and existing construction in the City of Columbia. The prevention office also takes care of staffing for special events, lockbox key assignments, public fire education programs, strategic planning for the department, false alarm abatement, and compiling monthly and annual statistical reports.

Christopher Kip

Assistant Chief of Professional Services

Chief Kip is the Professional Services Chief with two years experience as a volunteer member and twenty years as a career member of the Columbia-Richland Fire Department. He believes that the strength of our organization must be built on communication, trust, and an understanding of our shared mission to serve.

Anthony Holloway

Assistant Chief of Operations

Chief Holloway is the Operations Chief of the department. He oversees all fire suppression crews that work on all three of our department’s shifts.

These crews operate across the City of Columbia as well as Richland County — serving out of 32 fire stations.
